A Foundation for Lifelong Learning
Montessori for Ages 3-6
Welcome to our Early Childhood Development program at Darwin Public School. We believe that education should be a joyful and enriching experience, where each child's individuality is celebrated. Our Montessori program is designed to cultivate a deep sense of curiosity and a love for learning. We provide children with hands-on, self-directed learning experiences that encourage exploration and discovery. Each activity is thoughtfully crafted to align with the developmental needs and interests of the children, fostering their natural instincts to learn and grow. In our classrooms, you’ll find children collaborating, experimenting, and problem-solving in ways that reflect their innate abilities and interests. Our trained Montessori educators serve as guides, facilitating exploration and encouraging children to delve deeper into their passions.A Day at Darwin
An Engaging Journey Through Montessori LearningEach day in our Montessori classroom is a blend of discovery and self-directed exploration. Children engage in activities designed to nurture their natural curiosity and love for learning. Our classrooms are dynamic environments where children choose their activities based on their interests, promoting spontaneous concentration and deep engagement.
Children begin their day with hands-on Montessori activities in language, math, sensorial, and Practical Life, fostering problem-solving, concentration, and self-discipline.
Circle time in Montessori brings children together for group activities. It's a time for sharing, storytelling, and learning together.
Station time in Montessori lets children explore various learning areas independently, fostering creativity and self-directed learning.
Children spend 30 minutes everyday in the indoor gym or the outdoor play area participating in activities focused on strengthening their physical skills.
Snack time is an opportunity for educators to model healthy food habits and discuss different types of foods being eaten in the class.
After an exhausting and eventful day, children and educators gather to recollect their energy and experiences.
Guiding Lights
5 Pillars of Darwin Montessori Program (DMP)
Teacher as a Guide
Teachers at Darwin are facilitators of learning, not just instructors. They guide students with thoughtful observation and support, stepping in when needed while giving children the space to explore on their own terms.
Multi-Age Classrooms
Darwin’s Montessori classrooms feature multi-age groupings, where younger students benefit from learning alongside older peers, while older students reinforce their knowledge by guiding younger ones. This approach mimics real-world environments, fostering collaboration, empathy, and leadership among children of different ages and interests.
Child-Led Learning
In our Montessori program, students are encouraged to explore their individual interests through self-selected activities. Teachers curate a range of hands-on, age-appropriate tasks that align with each child's developmental stage, allowing students the freedom to discover, learn, and engage at their own pace.
Uninterrupted Learning Periods
Our Montessori program includes extended, uninterrupted learning periods that allow students to engage in self-directed activities without being rushed. This dedicated period encourages deep focus, concentration, and the development of critical thinking skills.
Using Montessori Materials
We use carefully crafted Montessori materials that provide a hands-on, immersive learning experience, supporting children as they engage with and explore complex concepts.
Montessori Activities
Fostering Essential Life Skills & Early Learning Our Montessori co-scholastic activities are thoughtfully designed to nurture the whole child, encouraging physical, emotional, and social growth. Through activities like arts, music, movement, and outdoor exploration, children gain valuable life skills, express their creativity, and develop confidence. These experiences complement Montessori’s hands-on learning approach, helping students discover their interests, collaborate with peers, and build a well-rounded foundation for their future. By fostering both individual and group learning, co-scholastic activities play an essential role in holistic development, shaping curious, compassionate, and capable learners. What Makes Montessori Unique
